Root Canal Treatment (RCT)

Root Canal Treatment is also known as Endodontic treatment. To know about this treatment in detail, it is important to know about your root canal and its associated structures. The root canal thus gets sealed off. The tooth is then restored with a Crown or filling for protection purposes and functions like any other teeth for many years.
Other complications that may arise due to the spread of infection apart from abscess formation are given below:
1. Swelling that gradually spreads to neck, face or head.
2. Loss of bone at the tip of root and formation of granulation on cyst.
3. Drainage problems- This is due to a hole that is formed on the side of your teeth or cheeks that will lead to draining onto gums and skin accordingly.
Several factors can cause damage of pulp. Some of these factors are as follows:
1. A crack in the tooth.
2. A cavity of sufficient depth.
3. Tooth injuries such as a strong knock, causing a major distortion of the tooth structure.
